Health and Care Leaders Network
The Health and Care Leaders Network brings together passionate, influential third sector leaders whose work supports people’s health and wellbeing. Together we look at the long term strategic strategic direction of health and social care in Leeds and advocate for the third sector as an equal partner in developments.
Our Approach
The Health and Care Leaders Network is a key strand of Forum Central’s work to advocate for the third sector as an equal partner in the strategic direction of health and social care in Leeds.
We work closely with the West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board, local NHS Trusts, Leeds City Council, Healthwatch Leeds, the Leeds GP Confederation and other regional institutions and local organisations to ensure the strengths and needs of the third sector play a role in decision making.

Our Network Meetings
Our meetings look ahead at emerging changes and opportunities. We focus on strategic thinking and developments across the health and care system, through a third sector lens. Through network meetings we aim to:
- identify, share and promote good practice across the third sector,
- build strong, positive connections across all sectors, so people share ideas, views and understanding,
- give leaders a safe space to challenge how services are delivered and explore new ways of working together
- keep you up to date on local and national health and social care issues, through policy briefings and guest speakers,
- respond to leaders’ needs,
- build trust, respect and mutual support.
Who can attend
The network is for third sector leaders and people in strategic roles. We use ‘leader’ in its broadest sense. This includes established, developing and aspiring leaders from any size of organisation or group.
All Forum Central member organisations are welcome to attend. Statutory health and care partners from statutory organisations are welcome to attend by invitation where relevant to the topic of the meeting and their role.

What happens at a meeting
Each meeting brings together member organisations from across the health and care third sector for discussion, knowledge sharing, peer support and collaboration. A meeting usually includes:
- short presentations from guest speakers,
- group discussion,
- plenty of time for networking.
We know how important it is to make time and space for you to talk to each other, make connections and find opportunities to work together or support one another. There is time for break-out discussions and networking at every meeting. Discussions usually take place in the second hour.
We hope you can join us in person for what is always an uplifting and worthwhile session.
